The Cleveland Charge, the NBA G League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, have announced a comprehensive brand evolution, introducing a new set of logos, wordmarks, and a refined color palette ahead of the upcoming season. The new identity replaces the branding used since the team's relocation to Cleveland in 2021.
Primary logo:
The global logo is a circular crest that encapsulates the brand's core elements. It places the charging cavalier icon within a globe-like frame, with the "CLEVELAND" banner integrated at the top and the word "CHARGE" arched below.
Secondary logo:
The new primary icon showcases a gold silhouette of a charging cavalier on horseback, brandishing a lance and shield. A flowing banner arcs over the rider, featuring the word "CLEVELAND" in a stylized font. This logo evokes an classic heroic feel.
Wordmark
The wordmark features "Charge" written in a flowing, elegant gold color. Nestled above it, the city name "CLEVELAND" appears in a clean, capitalized sans-serif font. The combination creates a sophisticated and classic athletic mark.
Old Logo vs New Logo
"This is the start of a new era of Charge basketball and we’re excited to represent Cleveland in a new and energetic way," stated Charge General Manager Mike Gansey.
The new branding will be implemented immediately across all digital platforms and team merchandise. The on-court uniforms featuring the new identity are scheduled to be unveiled at a later date.
